Have you ever wanted to test drive an electric vehicle?
That's exactly what Los Angeles residents did at the Electric Vehicle Ride and Drive event held January in 2016 at Wilmington, CA. Several electric car manufacturers, including Toyota, BYD, Mistubishi, and Kia, brought their newest "green vehicles" to the Ride and Drive Event.
Organized by Fabiola Lao, and the team at the Coalition for Clean Air in California, the event was kicked off by Councilman Joe Buscano. Attendees were able to test drive all of the electric vehicles for free with just a drivers license.
Take a look at the most popular cars in this video slideshow:
We learned a lot test driving these electric vehicles. They have a surprising mileage range, from 60 to 200 miles per charge, depending on the model.
Also, these electric cars are so silent that people standing in the parking lot next to you can't even hear that the car is running and you're waiting to back out of your space. Drivers need to be mindful of this when transitioning to an electric vehicle!
